What is Shakespeare trying to communicate about life in this passage spoken by the character Macbeth?

She should have died hereafter;
There would have been a time for such a word.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

In this extract Macbeth’s wife,Lady Macbeth has died of stress this is in the midst of an attack from the English army led by deceased former king Duncan’s son Malcolm.

Macbeth says “She should have died hereafter ,There would have time for such a word”. This is Macbeth saying that Lady Macbeth should have died when he would have the time to grieve but his castle is under attack so if she had died later he would of had time to mourn the loss of his wife.

Shakespeare is trying to communicate that life shouldn’t be taken for granted it is too short Macbeth describes life as being a shadow because shadows have no substance and are only made by an object casting it. The definition of a shadows is  partial or complete darkness so in theory Macbeth is saying that life is partial or complete darkness.

Creeps in this petty pace from day to day this quote is saying that death moves at a slow pace and creeping up one you everyday, until one day you die “To the last syllable of recorded time”

Shakespeare is communicating through Macbeth that life is short or as referred to by Macbeth ” brief candle” a candle is lit and once it burns out it is never lit again Macbeth is saying that the candle signifies how quick and meaningless a life can be
